The Big Zebra Mahjong Story

We're pretty sentimental and nostalgic over here. So when it came time to find a mahjong set that would have special meaning to our family, the immediate theme that came to mind was ice hockey. The problem was that we couldn't find one, so we designed one, and Big Zebra Mahjong was born.

Our thoughtfully-designed and whimsical sports-themed mahjong sets celebrate the spirit of competition and community building that happens season after season, year after year. We honor the lifelong friendships formed and memories made whether at the ice rink, on the sidelines or in the stands. 

Our collections are inspired by the joy, nostalgia and connection that sports create, much like mahjong itself, as a game rooted in friendship, storytelling and time shared around the table.

The name “Big Zebra” is a playful nod to the longtime nickname for the striped referees and officials who keep games moving. 

Big Zebra Mahjong is based in Massachusetts, and we currently ship to customers within the United States. As a small business, we truly appreciate your early support of this venture.
